Plessiva Isidoro Polencic - 2024 Pinot Bianco DOC Collio

Friulano DOC 2024 – Plessiva Isidoro Polencic

Grown on the sun-kissed slopes of Collio’s iconic ponca soil, Polencic’s Friulano is a textbook expression of this native grape. Vines are planted densely (4,500–7,500 vines/ha) and trained using the Guyot system, allowing for lower yields and greater concentration. Grapes are hand-harvested in early September to preserve freshness and aromatic purity.

After gentle pressing, the must undergoes static decantation and slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 16–18°C for around 20 days. The wine is aged on fine lees with bâtonnage for several months, lending depth and softness to the final expression.

Tasting Notes:
Bright straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, expect wildflowers, chamomile, and almond blossom layered with ripe pear, apple, and a hint of bitter almond. The palate is round and structured, showing medium acidity and a mineral-driven finish typical of Collio Friulano. There’s a gentle bitterness at the end, adding character and typicity.

Serving & Pairing:
Serve at 10–12°C. A versatile companion to cured meats like prosciutto crudo, soft cheeses, and light pasta dishes with herbs or seafood.
