From the renowned ponca soils of Collio in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the 2024 Chardonnay DOC Collio from Plessiva Isidoro Polencic is a beautifully refined expression of Chardonnay that emphasizes elegance, minerality, and texture over heaviness. Grown on the marl and sandstone slopes of Plessiva, the wine reflects the cool hillside terroir and meticulous winemaking style that have made Polencic one of Collio’s benchmark producers. 

Brilliant straw yellow with golden reflections, the nose opens with layered aromas of ripe pear, citrus, exotic fruit, vanilla, and delicate pastry notes supported by subtle oak influence and floral lift. On the palate, the wine is broad yet precise, showing remarkable creaminess from extended lees aging while maintaining freshness and mineral tension throughout. Notes of orchard fruit, lemon zest, white peach, and gentle baking spice lead into a long, elegant finish marked by salinity and refined balance.

Unlike heavier international Chardonnay styles, Polencic’s Chardonnay focuses on finesse, texture, and terroir expression, making it exceptionally food friendly while still offering complexity and aging potential.
