Barolo Bricco Ambrogio DOCG 2020 – Negretti
The 2020 Bricco Ambrogio from Negretti is a single-vineyard Barolo of precision and poise, grown on the eastern-facing slopes of La Morra. Sourced from the estate’s prized cru vineyard, this bottling reflects both the elegance of the commune and the clarity of site that defines top-tier Barolo.

In the glass, it reveals a brilliant ruby hue with garnet reflections at the rim. The nose is lifted and expressive—bright red cherry, rose petal, and violet weave through layers of anise, cedar, and crushed granite. With air, deeper notes of forest floor and black tea emerge, hinting at the wine’s aging potential. On the palate, the structure is focused and linear, offering sculpted tannins and mineral tension. The flavors echo the aromatics—fresh cherry, red currant, and dried thyme—supported by a saline edge and a long, vibrant finish.

The 2020 vintage produced wines of classic structure and impressive aromatics. This Barolo will benefit from cellaring and is expected to develop further complexity over the next 12 to 15 years.
