Produced in the hills of Valpolicella near Verona, the 2021 Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG from Fratelli Giuliari is a rich and deeply expressive wine crafted using the traditional appassimento method, where grapes are naturally dried to concentrate flavour and structure before fermentation. The result is a powerful yet remarkably smooth Amarone that balances intensity with elegance.

Deep garnet ruby in colour, the nose opens with layered aromas of dried black cherry, fig, plum compote, cocoa, sweet spice, and tobacco, followed by hints of truffle, dark chocolate, and cedar from oak aging. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and velvety, showing concentrated flavours of raisined cherry, black plum, mocha, cinnamon, and licorice supported by polished tannins and warming richness. Despite its power, the wine maintains freshness and balance through a long, savoury finish.

A classic Amarone that pairs beautifully with braised meats, game dishes, aged Parmigiano Reggiano, truffle risotto, or enjoyed slowly on its own.
